About Us
You have built a life that looks like it’s working. You show up, deliver, and keep moving, even on the days when everything inside you feels like it is about to crack. You call it a strength but it is a sign of a nervous system that never learned it was safe to stop.
I am Dr. Rue (Ruhama) Hazout, a licensed psychologist, and someone who has spent over 15 years working with people who are very good at holding it together while something underneath is pulling them apart.
I run, I cycle, I practice yoga. I understand what it is like to push your body past the point of comfort and convince yourself that discomfort means progress. That same pattern shows up in the therapy room, and I know how to help you recognize it.
At RueCare, we do not just talk about what is happening. We work on why your brain and body keep responding this way, and we build new pathways so that calm is something you can actually access, not just something you read about.
I use evidenced based practice including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) because they work. Each of these approaches gives you tools you can use outside the session
Sessions are practical and goal-oriented. We look at the full context of your life, including mental health, physical well-being, relationships, and personal goals. The tools we use are designed to support change outside the session.
I have been doing this work for over 15 years with adults who are high-functioning, high-achieving, and exhausted. I trained at Nova Southeastern University, completed APA-accredited internships, and work across clinical practice, the Veterans Affairs, and academia.
But credentials are not why my clients stay. They stay because the work actually changes something.
If you’re ready to invest in yourself and work toward a more balanced, grounded version of life, let’s get started. This is your space to take the first step.
